Job Title: Technical Support Leader
Working Pattern: Full time/onsite – 3rd Shift (11pm – 7:30am Sun – Thur)
Working location: Stennis, MS
Rolls-Royce is looking to recruit an Experimental Engine Technical Support Leader into Experimental Operations – Civil Aerospace. The Rolls-Royce Stennis Outdoor Test Facility is located on NASA’s John C. Stennis Space Center, just outside the city of New Orleans, Louisiana. The Rolls-Royce Stennis Outdoor Test Facility is capable of testing Rolls-Royce jet engines: large, small, and military. The Rolls-Royce Stennis Outdoor Test Facility is the only Rolls-Royce site capable of performing special tests such as fan flutter and noise testing. The current capabilities include two outdoor jet engine test stands.

What you will be doing
The ideal candidate in will have a broad background including college course work and real-world experience in an operational environment with exposure to some or all of the following:
Operations shift work; FOD awareness; Tool control; Test vehicle rigging procedures; Avionics systems; Instrumentation theory and application; Calibration; Tooling and support equipment; Assembly/build processes; Test procedures; Data acquisition systems; Troubleshooting measurement systems; Circuit design; Repair solutions; and Engineering drawings and documentation.
The role requires shift working, ability to lift 30 pounds, working outdoors on your feet for large portions of the shift as well as the ability to work at height. Other duties will include (but not limited to):
- Lead a team of test technicians conducting engine tests
- Act as single point-of-contact for an assigned shift during engine testing and own responsibility for engine health and safety of the people involved
- Plan for testing by reading test schedules and experiments in advance to ensure all requirements are understood
- Support business objectives with day-to-day actions and leading by example.
- Drive compliance by adhering to company and site policies, and staying current on all required training
- Must be willing to work any shift (days, afternoons, nights) as needed

Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of experience working with gas turbine engine components, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Calibration, Hydraulics or Aerospace Engineering
- Associates degree with 3+ years of experience working with gas turbine engine components, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Calibration, Hydraulics or Aerospace Engineering
- In order be to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident
Preferred Requirements:
- Avionics instrumentation background with measurement system experience
- Jet engine / Powerplant familiarity: commercial, military or general aviation
- Experience moving heavy equipment
- Some computer skills at a basic level (MS Office and other general programs)
- Experience using computers and troubleshooting complex systems
- Actively promote and model a safety-conscious work environment for colleagues, identifying and reporting potential safety hazards or risks immediately
- Strong attention to detail is needed for this role
- Ability to work well within a team and good collaboration skills
- Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
